Workshop Background
The Advanced Website Design and Development Workshop was organized under the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) Program to strengthen the digital capacity of Catholic Sisters. The workshop equips participants with practical skills required to design, develop, manage, and maintain modern websites that support the ministries and missions of their congregations.
The training combines classroom instruction, hands-on practical exercises, group discussions, individual assignments, and online learning to ensure participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Workshop Objectives
The workshop aims to enable participants to:
- Understand modern website planning, design, and development concepts.
- Design professional, responsive, and user-friendly websites.
- Install, configure, and manage WordPress websites.
- Register domain names and manage web hosting services.
- Create and organize website content effectively.
- Customize website themes, menus, widgets, and plugins.
- Implement website security, backup, and maintenance best practices.
- Optimize websites for search engines (SEO) and performance.
- Integrate websites with social media and communication platforms.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance website development and content creation.
- Develop confidence to mentor fellow sisters and other community members in website design and development.
